[7][8] A Spanish singer, she was born in Barcelona and has been called an "atypical popstar" because of her eclectic musical tastes. [9] She fell in love with Spanish folk music as a child and studied musicology at Catalonia College of Music. Mixing flamenco with hip-hop and pop music, the album spawned "Malamente" (single) and "Pienso en tu Mira (single). Both singles were a huge success and received widespread critical acclaim. El Mal Querer was the first to bring Rosalia onto the international music stage. Rosalia, who explored urbano music through her 2019 releases "Con Altura", and "Yo x Ti Tu x Mi", achieved global success. With her third studio album Motomami (2022), she gave reggaeton an innovative twist, departing slightly from the original flamenco sound. With singles "La Fama", "Saoko", the album was a hit worldwide and was the most highly reviewed album of the year according to Metacritic. Rosalia has amassed ten number-one singles throughout her career in her home country. This is the most for an artist from that area. Two Grammy Awards, eleven Latin Grammy Awards (including 2 Album of the year wins), four MTV Video Music Awards and a MTV Europe Music Award were also presented to Rosalia. She has also received two Grammy Awards, two Grammy Awards, two Premio Ruido Awards, two UK Music Video Awards, three UK Music Video Awards, as well as two Grammy Awards. Billboard presented her with the Rising Star Award, in 2019, for "changing the sound today's mainstream songs with her fresh flamenco pop". [18] She also became the first Spanish-singing group to be nominated as Best New Artist at Grammys. Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. She was born in a family without artistic heritage and is the youngest child of Pilar Tobella who runs a small family business that specializes in metalworks. Jose Manuel Vila, her father, was born in Cudillero. They split in 2019. [23] Rosalia's older sister Pilar Vila, who was born in 1989, is her stylist. Rosalia became interested in performing arts as a child, particularly after she discovered the discography by Camaron de La Isla. She started her musical education at Taller de Musics. [24] She attended a six year course at the academy. She attended classes at the Raval School, and then transferred to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia. [25] She also worked independently as a singer at weddings, musical bars and other events. She received "a little over 80 euro or in exchange for dinner". Rosalia also met many underground Spanish musicians during this time like La Zowi (Yung Beef), Kaydy Cain and Hinds. Rosalia Rosalia Rosalia Rosalia Rosalia
